2012 BMW M1 renderings – based on Vision EfficientDynamics Concept
No Comments

Rumor is that BMW is reviving the M1 nameplate for a new plug-in hybrid sports car. It will be based on the recently revealed Vision EfficientDynamics Concept.
Modern day M1 will be all about performance and efficiency. Power would come from a 3-cylinder 1.5-liter turbodiesel mated to a pair of electric motors.
Expected power output is 356 horsepower and 590 lb-ft, which translates to 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 4.8 seconds and the top speed electronically limited at 250 km/h (155 mph).
If the performance numbers are not impressive, then fuel consumption surely is. Average fuel consumption on the concept is just 3.76 liters/100 kilometers (62.6 mpg).
