Audi e-tron concept confirmed for production

Audi’s e-tron concept with 4,500 Nm (3,319.03 lb-ft) of torque was one of the most impressive green car concepts at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
Now just few weeks after its debut, Audi of America President Johan de Nysschen has confirmed, that they will put this green sports car into production.
He expects to see running examples in 1-2 years. Production version based on the concept should debut by 2013.
Even though e-tron looks like it is based on the R8, the car is actually smaller in size, and sits somewhere between the TT and R8. e-tron concept is 168 inches (4,267 mm) long and 75 inches (1,905 mm) wide.
Power on the e-tron concept comes from four electric motors, one on each wheel. Total output is 313 horsepower and 4,500 Nm (3,319.03 lb-ft) of torque. 0-100 km/h (0 – 62 mph) comes in 4.8 seconds and the range is 154 miles (248 km) from lithium ion battery pack that is positioned behind the passenger cabin.
