by Alex Patrick

As per the latest automotive news, the Audi TT-RS, which happens to be most powerful model of the car will undergo a gearbox upgrade with the new 7-speed dual-clutch S-tronic gearbox to become a standard fitment on the TT-RS from this autumn.

The announcement was made at the Leipzig Auto Show where the new facelifted TT Coupe and Cabrio were brought to the fore. Apart from the new gearbox, the TT-RS will also feature launch control. This together with the new S-tronic gearbox will make the TT-RS more performance oriented so that the 0 to 100 km/h dash comes up at under 4.6 seconds which is the time the manual gearbox equipped TT-RS takes to attain the 100km/hr speed. As for the engine, the TT-RS will come fitted with a 2.5-liter 5-cylinder unit good enough for a respectable 340 hp and an impressive torque figure of 450 Nm.
