More than 7,500 GM trucks were recalled because of safety concerns. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has just issued a pair of recall notice for 7,507 vehicles as part of two separate safety actions.
It seems that 6,768 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon 2011 model year pickup trucks were recalled. NHTSA declared that is an important issue with an an ornery transmission adjustment clip which might not keep the shift cable in the correct position and this can cause big problems because there can appear an error: the truck seems to be in park, when in fact it’s just waiting to roll away in neutral.
A second problem appeared due to a steering shaft bolt that’s been improperly tightened. For this issue 739 trucks and SUVs were recalled in servicies. This bolt is important because if loose, it could make for rather difficult steering and cause an accident. This recall affects the 2011 Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Yukon and Yukon XL.
