Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid

Porsche, the undisputed king of exotic performance, luxury and value has done it again, this time with the 11 GT3 R Hybrid. This new racer features a rear mounted 480-hp 4.0-liter flat six as well as dual electric motors which drive the front wheels.
Seated where passengers are normally placed is a flywheel that harnesses kinetic energy under braking and can spin over 40,000 rpm. Once the system is charged up enough, it will let out 120 kilowatts which approximately amounts to 160 horsepower to the front wheels.
Official performance specs haven’t been released yet but we’re hearing that the German automaker plans to have a refined version ready for the 2012 LeMans 24-hour torture of a race.
