Video: Dan Neil test drives the Audi e-tron concept
This is quite impressive! It took Audi nine months to make the e-tron concept, and unlike most concepts this one is actually fully functional with goodies like climate control, power windows, visibility-sensing LED headlamps and taillamps, electric door closures and motion-sensing door handles.
While the e-tron was in LA earlier this month, Los Angeles Times automotive critic, Dan Neil gotta a chance to test drive this plug-in electric supercar concept.
Mr. Neil was so impressed that he thinks the the last Audi that was this cool was upstaging Will Smith in the movie “I, Robot.”
With four electric motors, one on each wheel, e-tron packs a total 313 horsepower and an impressive 3,319 lb-ft of torque. 0-100 km/h is 4.8 seconds and top speed is 200 km/h (124 mph). Expected range is around 248 km (154 miles) from a full charge.
