800HP Mercedes E-Klasse Cabriolet Released By Brabus

by Sebastian Bivin

Brabus, founded 1977 in Bottrop (Ruhr Area), Germany , is a high-performance aftermarket tuning company which specializes in Mercedes-Benz, Smart and Maybach vehicles.

The company have just released details and photos of what it is claimed to be the most powerful and fastest four-seater cabriolet. This is a car that is built to order and priced from EUR478,000. Dubbed Brabus E V12 Cabriolet, the project is based on the open-top version of the Mercedes-Benz E-Klasse.

The 800HP Mercedes E-Klasse Cabriolet comes fitted with the Brabus 800 V12 Biturbo twelve-cylinder high-capacity engine, which is coupled with a five-speed automatic transmission. A stainless-steel high-performance exhaust system with four tailpipes was also created specifically for the E-Klasse Cabriolet.

As expected, performance figures are impressive: the unit develops 800 horsepower and 1,420 Nm (1,047 lb-ft) of torque, limited electronically in the car to 1,100 Nm (811 lb-ft). This enables the car to sprint from naught to sixty in just 3.7 seconds. After 9.9 seconds it reaches a speed of 200 km/h (124 mph). The 300 km/h (186 mph) barrier comes after 23.9 seconds. Depending on the final-drive ratio the BRABUS 800 E V12 Cabriolet has a top speed of up to 370 km/h (231 mph).

The exterior design styling mods include a new front apron with LED daytime running lights integrated, a wider body kit (new front sport fenders and special carbon-fiber rear fender flares), making room for the 19-inch wheels shod with high-performance tires from Continental, Pirelli or YOKOHAMA. Obviously the suspension and brakes have also been upgraded.

The interior comes with a cockpit finished in a combination of lipstick-red and black leather. Other highlights include an ergonomically shaped steering wheel and inlays made from genuine carbon fiber on dashboard, center console and side trim.

Beside this, so you never forget what you are in control of, the speedometer displays a 400-km/h (250-mph) dial.
